SECOND TRIMESTER: Weeks 13 – 27
Woo! You’ve now hit your second trimester and hopefully starting to feel a bit more human and like your old self. For most women the first trimester can be really tough, however the second trimester can come around and embrace you like a big hug filled with renewed energy, increase in appetite, better skin and hair and the demise of morning sickness! TF.
This trimester took its sweet time arriving for me and didn’t make an appearance until week 18 when the sickness buggered off and I could stay awake for longer than an hour at a time! So don’t worry if it takes a little longer for you too, it really is different for every single woman and each pregnancy. However, when it did come around boy was it good. My skin cleared up, my hair became thicker and shinier and most importantly I had the energy to enjoy being pregnant and a trip home to the UK to see my nearest and dearest and also celebrate my 30th birthday. The timing couldn’t have been better!
During this time, I would recommend focusing on enjoying yourself and treating your growing body well. This is the time to tell everyone your wonderful news and start getting organized for the arrival of your little one.
It is also a time to embrace a whole new wardrobe and maternity shopping doesn’t need to be expensive or a chore. You can find some really beautiful and comfortable pieces online and on the high street if you know where to look. I found some amazing new brands that will work for both pregnancy and beyond as well as a huge selection from stalwarts such as ASOS.
