She informed me that a lot of beauty businesses label themselves organic when really only as little as 5% of their ingredients are actually organically grown. I was surprised and quite shocked that this was allowed, however this growing industry is not yet regulated so the onus falls to the consumer to check the labels and ensure that most if not all of the ingredients are organic. You can read more about this here.
This is why Katharos Organics appeals to me as a consumer because they operate on a 95-99.72% level of organic ingredients ensuring that what you are putting onto your skin is truly good for you. They only hand pick organic brands who provide the highest quality of product and who are committed to keeping the world green.
When possible, Nerissa provides a personalized service, which allows her to discuss your skin type, and any issues you have to ensure you purchase the right product for your skin. I was lucky enough to experience this personal touch and as a result Nerissa passed me her popular ‘Blueberry and Soy Night Cream’, as I often suffer from dry skin and want to keep those wrinkles at bay. Therefore, I have spent the past couple of weeks using this cream so I can share my opinions on my first organic night cream.
- This cream is very thick which I can imagine will be good for when I have severe dry skin. Due to its thickness I really didn’t need a lot each night to cover my face and neck, therefore I can see this lasting a long time.
- There is the option to dilute the cream with a little bit of water, which I tried after the first few nights. I wasn’t sure how well this was going to work and whether it would turn into a paste that would be difficult to rub in. However, I was pleasantly surprised, in fact I think the water helps the cream adsorb quicker into the skin and doesn’t leave your skin feeling tacky.
- The scent of blueberries is subtle with warm notes accentuating the ‘fresh’ fragrance.
- Each morning my skin felt smooth and hydrated and didn’t have me reaching immediately for my daily moisturiser.
My verdict? I will definitely continue to use this cream in the diluted form, as it is too thick for me as it is to use on a daily basis. I now plan to use organic skincare again and am on the lookout for a cleanser!
