I hope you are all having fun filled weekends wherever you are in the world.
I have had the most wonderful but also the sweatiest two days of my life!! And that’s saying something coming from Singapore!
We have had a cultural day today visiting Ho Chi Min’s mausoleum, the botanical gardens, the military museum (for Simon) and then the oldest pagoda in Hanoi called Tran Quoc which is 1,400 years old and beautiful. Here are just a couple of pictures:
Still two days to go and tomorrow we are heading out of Hanoi to visit the ancient capital of northern Vietnam, Hoa Lu.
On this trip we are going to bike ride through rice paddies and villages and then have a trip down the river on some old wooden fishing boats to see the limestone caves. And if it’s as hot as today we’ll probably lose half our body weight in sweat while we’re at it…at least it should work off the yummy ice cream we’ve been devouring! Fingers crossed!
I cannot wait to see some of the beautiful Vietnamese countryside and I shall report back to let you know what it was like.
