Through my weekly Friday Fashion Fix segment I like to celebrate local designers and brands along with the house hold luxury brands we have come to know and save up for. Therefore this week calls for a post on Singapore founded Hat of Cain.
This local label founded by Bill Cain in early 2013, seeks to bring a fashionable and stylish edge to your beach wear and everyday outfits in this tropical climate. Bill travelled to Equador to source the artisans who could create these beautifully woven hats. In fact the art of weaving these hats was proclaimed an intangible cultural heritage by UNESCO in 2012 due to the knowledge and skill involved being passed down from generation to generation.
I am lucky enough to own the two Signature Hat of Cain designs and I love wearing these hand crafted hats around town. Not only do they protect me from the hot sun but they also act as the perfect accessory to most outfits.
Hat of Cain are open every Saturday from 11-5pm at their shophouse in Geylang (18 Joo Chiat Terrace).
