You only need to search #babyshower on Instagram or how to plan a baby shower on Pinterest to find the most jaw droppingly cute ideas full of miniature bottles of champagne, DIY gift bags for your guests to take home and statement décor leaving no one in doubt on who is about to make their way into this world!
During my pregnancy I have been lucky enough to have two small baby showers so I could celebrate with my nearest and dearest in both Singapore and back home in the UK. Greedy I know! Both of these showers have been different but equally special and created memories I will never forget and here is the ultimate checklist for planning your next baby shower…
HOST – Decide who hosts, is this going to be a family member, friend or co-hosted with the mum-to-be.
BUDGET – Set a budget; events like these don’t have to break the bank and with so many DIY ideas on Pinterest you can make it extra personal at half the cost.
EVENT DETAILS – Select a date, venue and theme and finalise the guest list.
INVITATIONS – Send out invites at least 6 weeks before to ensure your loved ones can make it. With so many gorgeous designs like these Baby Shower invitations your guests won’t be able to resist!
MENU – Decide on the menu and who is going to do the catering. (The Hippo is me!!)
GAMES – Plan some baby games you know the mum-to-be will love. Sometimes the most simple ones are the best like guessing the size of the bump with a piece of string… my humongous bump nearly caused the roll of string to run out!
DECORATIONS – Arrange some cute and Instagram worthy decorations, fresh flowers like this stunning Clarissa bouquet, are always a winner and help brighten up any event.
FAVOURS – Decide on whether you will have any gift bags and personalize the contents.
GUEST BOOK – Organize an elegant guest book for guests to leave memorable messages for the mum-to-be.
THANK YOU NOTES – Help keep a list of the gifts received and who they are from for the mum-to-be so she can send beautiful thank you notes after the event.
And most importantly just enjoy your special day!
