After an extremely positive response from bloggers who were keen to attend the event, I decided I wanted to take it a step further. I then began to research the market here in Singapore to find local brands who provide items of an artisan nature by either hand making or designing their products. Once I found these fantastic brands I approached them about participating in #blogmeetsg by contributing samples of their work for either a gift bag for bloggers to take home on the evening or a lucky draw prize, in some cases brands were so generous and contributed to both. This way bloggers and brands could initiate some beneficial working relationships and “grow together” in the Singapore marketplace.
….. #blogmeetsg was born!
So last Wednesday evening months of meetings and organization came to a head and it was finally time for the event to hit Singapore. The event was held at Edit Lifestyle, a stunning lifestyle store on Tanglin Road selling everything you need for a stylish life in Singapore and your travels beyond.
Edit were extremely generous sponsors of the evening providing not only the venue but also drinks and canapés to sustain the bloggers and a whopping $200 gift voucher to be awarded to the blogger who has been the most active on social media about the event.
The oh so stylish and classic Hat of Cain were all present on the evening meeting the bloggers and sizing them up so they could each take home one of their signature Panama hats. There were a lot of extremely happy bloggers after visiting Bill and Kim to receive their gorgeous hats.
Meryl was the lucky recipient of the leather woven handbag contributed by Rameela from Naakka Enterprises, who has a few different arms of her business. Rameela is distributor of these stunning handbags in Singapore and they come in many different colours, sizes and styles.
It was so wonderful for me to meet other bloggers here in Singapore and share some truly inspirational local brands with you all, who quite frankly make a welcome alternative to the clinical Orchard Road.
Already looking forward to #blogmeetsg part two…watch this space!
